Xpounded VBS QuickDev IDE Installation Eratta

Below you will find two files and instructions that will allow you to use the 9 Disk VBS QuickDev IDE download.

(This page is only for XP users running WSH5.6 WIth IE6+)

Requirements, Assumptions

You are using XP

You have IE available (Default Setting)

You have scripting enabled on your system (Default Setting)

You use Windows Built In Extxraction Utiltiy (Default Setting)

You have the option to show files pre-selected when you run the extraction utility (Default Setting)

If any of these assumptions are wrong, you can, and should, leave this page now, and thank you.

Once you have QuickDev Installed, Replace the dialogOpenFile and dialogSaveFile Functions found in VBS QuickDev IDE\IDECore\dialogs.vbs With the code provided below.
This is for XP users only. The original dialogOpenFile will work only if you have a valid license for its use.

These are replacement functions. They go in VBS QuickDev IDE\IDECore\dialogs.vbs

The code below will correcly setup the installation files after you have downloaded the zipped 9 Disk set.
On that page, DO NOT Read below the phrase 'Download and use Instructions:'. These instructions Replace the need for that setup.
On that Page, DO NOT Use the The VBSQDGlue script found on that page. The script below replaces the need for that script.

Instruction to setup and install VBS QuickDev IDE

Read the statements above these instructions.

Download all 9 Ziped Disks into a single folder on your machine.

Copy and run the script below.

This script will unzip and set up the installation files

You will browse to and select the folder that the 9 ziped disks are in, and then select a folder to hold the installation set.

The script will correct four issues with the install set after unzipping them

XP SP2 hta Warning (issue)

Location of image files for setup. This change is required in two files. (minor issue)

Malformed Code due to Type-o. (major issue)

See the CorrectErata Function in the script below for details

Run the VBSQD installation by Doubnle-clicking on the Agrement.hta

Things can go wrong when...

You try to unzip or extract over existing files.

You have scripting disabled or locked-down on your system.

You interrupt the setup script (below) before it is finished.

You do not follow the directions above.

You may need to adjust the sleep time (SendSpeed = 1200) in the script to make sure all items are extracted from the Zip Files.
